so without anyone getting too technologically geeky on me, can anyone tell me an easy way to convert a demo into something like .mp4 or something where i can either upload it to internets or watch it on like VLC or WMP or something. (vlc media player and windows media player i talkin about)
i know blox had like a thing uploaded on rtcw cheaters but that was all too tech jargony and all that for me. just looking to be able to put some raw footage on like the net or something so yea, how can i do that?
the easiest thing for me would be maybe throw it onto youtube or something, any ideas?

I don't think there is a demo converter out there for rtcw. Also, every video capture software brings down your fps; your best bet is to pirate (lolomgthief) Fraps since its very easy to use and works like a charm.
Besides, unless your running on a 7 year old computer, I don't see how your fps can take a huge hit when running a video capture software.

because they use a program like fraps to record it and convert it into video file...
as for it being free, I never knew that since 3 years ago they used to charge you, and give you a demo thing instead where it let you record only 30 seconds.

yeah i did but it brings my fps way down and my ping way up :/ /record demo first, then use xfire video capture while playing the demo back. That way you dont need more than 30 fps and ping is irrelevent If you find hitting the xfire record keys stops playback, change them to f5+f6 or something similar (the F# keys are usually the ones used to execute in game commands like cl_avidemo) That should be the simplest way without having to learn a thing about rtcw or movie making

I think a lot of the old demos were converted by simply recording a demo normally then reviewing it and recording a demo in avi format while doing so.
Downside is the demo is like 25fps :S
