you first need a valid copy of rtcw 1.33.
that can be obtained legally here:

www.amazon.com also has copies available.
it can also be obtained through torrents, but you are on your own with that

then you will need to download and install the 1.41 patch (for free).
that can be obtained here:

dash knows a way to "beat the system" so to speak so maybe he could copy and paste that info here, but for $10.00 it doesn't seem worth the trouble.

how to install:
you want to install it to your 1.33's "main folder" pretty much all there is too it.

you need to update pb here:
evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-rtcw.php
download the file: PunkBuster (RtCW) Security Files
For Players Filename: pbsec.htm

If that does not work for you, PM me with your email address and I will email you the updated pb files that you need.

on some versions of windows you need to run rtcw as an adminstrator. -> right click in the RTCW MP shortcut -> select "Run as Administrator" -> click "Allow" **

**To disable User Account Control:
Go to Control Panel -> Search "UAC" -> Click link to Disable UAC -> On next screen, Uncheck box that says Leave UAC on. -> Click "OK"

I just want to add that if you do buy it off of steam it already comes with 1.4 installed... you don't have to do any of this patching stuff.
