What got you into wolf?

Been done a million times yeah but let's hear your story.

I was about 13 years old, maybe even 12. I had just got my own computer and was incredibly bored of playing solitaire and asteroids. My family was going to KOP to do some shopping and shit and see an iMax movie, forget what it was. I remember seeing EB games and thinking, hey! i want a REAL video game. My dad was always into playing Duke Nukem and Doom on his days off so him and i seperated from the girls and went in.

He tried very hard to convince me to get WoW, saying how cool an online strategy game would be, blah blah blah. I had no idea what WoW was back then, but I knew Dungeons and Dragons and mythical shit was not for me, shit i was never even into Pokemon, what did i want with WoW?

I decided to keep browsing around the store to see wht else they had. Then I saw it, in big letters, GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION. If anything was for me, it was a game of the year, i was instantly intrigued. I started to read about it, and all the WWII talk and ideas were flowing through my head, this was the game I had to have.

I bought it and started playing the singleplayer mode, having absolutely NO idea about online gaming or that it even existed. After growing bored of singleplayer i resorted back to solitaire and asteroids, and this new thing called Porn on the internet.

A buddy of mine was over one day and noticed the game and was like "hey you should definitely play online, i bet its awesome!" It took us a good 2 hours to set up the online mode, with my first name being WolfSniper. I remember not being able to believe how much harder online was than singleplayer, and there were no crazy chicks with stens rolling around the floor.

Soon after, I joined my first clan, xXx (inspired by Vin Diesels movie, not the stupid mexican clan on 1.0). I had to make 25 points on beach to be accepted. I got 23 points and the leader told me that was enough and that I was really good. this was on beach. And that is where it all started, from there I went to DoD and sWc and GoA, followed by eGw and ewp. Tried my hand in 1.41 for a while but decided 1.33 was my homeland and i was there to stay. After 1.33 started getting slower and the competition getting lax, I decided to join my friends from DoD and sWc on 1.41. This is where we played in tournies and cups, never winning it all of course.

I actually met skitz and 2 others, kodos and kang when skitz was on a trip to the US. this was when i was 16 and had just gotten my license, and I was eager to drive. My friend (the one who introduced me to online play) and I drove up to New York to meet these guys. A bit too nerdy for real life, we hung out for a bit and parted ways, still maintaining our online friendships for many years to come. I still exchange emails with Rob and Kevin every now and then.

I took a little hiatus and after no time i was back at again, this time back to classic 1.33. things had changed greatly, I didn't recognize any names or any of the servers, and it seemed to be a bit more empty.

This is when Evil Box and Fun Box or whatever it was called was around. I then joined the clan BB under the name Omaha. Soon after that I left BB to join UEF, then left UEF to join Anarchy with swift and company. I played in a myriad of clans on that time back, the most memorable being op, us, and pblk.

After another hiatus from wolf I came back to find that deathmatch was the norm now, and clans were building deathmatch teams, wanting to be a part of this, i took reigns with UEF which soon became a squad in 1.3k. Turned out swift had gotten a huge ego from fucking some dirty online slut named Jessica/Babe.

Not being all that happy in 1.3k, I believe this is when 1337 started. It was Air, Doja, and myself as leaders. The clan was originally a joke pointed at shocker, but it soon took off and we reached heights never achieved before. this is where we met and made friends with the one and only WolfPlaye, we took him from noob status to BAD status and back again.

1.33 was a dying thing, and AiR was preaching to the choir about this other version, 1.0. We decided to take our talent down there and play. Within days of playing 1.0, the leader of INV contacted me to join his clan. I am not sure if air was already in INV when i joined but he ws the first in there with me. Soon after a bunch of other 1.33'ers joined INV with us, and we weren't happy with the clan. We then decided to bring 1337 back from the dead and started it up on 1.0. It was a force to be reckoned with, mostly 1.33 players clowning around and having a good time together.

As you may well know, I then left 1337 to join rw and shortly after was caught wallhacking (LOL). then i joined aTa which was easily the best clan on 1.0 and then joined SOD and now here I am at NG.

Had some time to kill before leaving so there ya have it, a half assed story of my wolf career.

I was a senior in high school taking a computer class (lasted about 3 hours a day) at a career school back in 2001. About three quarters of the way through the semester a friend in the class showed me this new game you could download and play while in class. The game was RTCW demo. It was November time frame when I started playing. AssKicker was my name of choice. I sucked soo bad.

I played the game every day at school for over a month straight and it was a blast playing beach. With exception to the hackers that would fly around laying on their back shooting everyone and shit.

When that class ended in the middle of December; I had other things going on. Actually met my now wife in Feb of 2002. I had been working since the middle of 2000 and had some money to spend, so about March of 2002 I purchased the kick ass game RTCW from bestbuy for $49.00 Game of the Year edition. Played singleplayer for a while but got stuck on the Forest mission (the one where you can't let the axis sound any alarms) and /quit for a long while.

Got engaged Jan 2003 and got married in Nov 2003 and left for the Air Force in Feb 2004. Got my computer back in Oct 2004. (Long schooling for my job)

Came back to singleplayer in early 2005. Finally beat the Forest Mission in a few tries and was like "wtf was my problem - that wasn't that hard". Once I beat singleplayer I found the option for Multiplayer. April of 2005 or so I started playing under the name Wolfplayer on 1.33 but then finally figured out how to change my name. Found one that stuck AiR4cEOnE. My skills were about jim1 level but still not even that great (i too loved to repair the mg40's on beach and blow shit up with dynamite in the war room). I loved to camp corners and crouch kill everyone lol but was still playing default settings. Dosha took me under his wing and showed me some commands to type in the console (i didn't even know how to bring the console down). The showed me how to write a cfg file and save shit and all.

I don't remember a lot of the following but I think my first clan was }TaC{ then I don't remember the name but it was with Dosha (doja) and some other good guys (can't remember their wolf names). My name was a lil long for the tags so i shortened it to AiR. I learned of 1.41 at this time and started to play that a good bit too. I left that clan because it was going no where and Jessica/Babe joined and imo was schizophrenic. Crazy bitch. My now my skills had improved a good bit. I had joined a 1.41 clan called Major and still used AiR. Major|AiR - my only 1.41 clan

By this I had improved a lot more and when this new clan called 1337 that popped up with a good bit of great players I seized my chance. Dosha was my in but I still applied and soon after accepted. After about 2 or 3 months of being in the clan - the leaders all took off. This kind of left me (the most active) player to step up and not let it die. So I took control and recruited a shit ton of good guys. We loved playing with each other (no homo).

April 2007 rolls around and I packed up and left for South Korea. 1337 and 1.33 was on it's last leg and eagle aka diminish asked me to apply for 1.3k and I joined for about 2 weeks and it died lol. I started playing again June or July of that year and it just wasn't the same on 1.33. When I played the servers were empty. So I had heard from Dash and a few others about 1.0 and moved down there. Within a few weeks I had converted a few other 1.33ers

Moved back to the States in May 2008
Deployed to Iraq Jan 2010 to Jun2010.

Came back and found the majority of 1337 left for this noob clan Ng. So I joined too

well as a young kid i lived in new jersey, my uncle had had always played the doom games, when i went to his house i would always play. then one day he went out and bought rtcw game of the year edition... he sucked at the game and got stuck at i think forest map and let me play, thats how i got hooked...


so i was about to move to pa, so i made copies of his discs and played single player faithfully... took me about a month to beat single player, then one day i got back on to play sp and i seen multiplayer i clicked it, nothin appeared so i messed around with it for a lil clicked the local button and it changed to favorites and internet.... the internet one had words that showed up as a list...



from there i clicked onto the words on the list and bam joined a thing called a server.... i was playing, tking my teamates so they voted to kick me off the server for several days until some 1 told me not to kill the ppl that look like u, i was like whoa how did he type that to me, so then i played for weeks i sucked of course u kno jim1 level like air maybe worse... after like month i was starting to actually kill some ppl they were my noob days....


i went on playing for a couple more months and realized that there were these things called clans i wanted to be in one, from there i met riddle and his buddy i forget his name, i asked him if i could be in his clan, he said u have to duel both of us with pistol if u kill both of us ur in i said ok, killed them both with pistol and i joined {nBk}, from there nbk died so i asked (P-BLK)C@!N if i could join (P-BLK) he said no, so i bugged all the leaders of (P-BLK) for weeks until they let me join... from there it was all history.. while my days in (P-BLK) i was using a 56k connection so i still kinda sucked, and i was away from wolf alot when i dint have a computer..



came back one day and 1.33 was pretty much dead *bad* server was still around and i seen 1337 members on i think it was air or eclipse and asked if i could join 1337, he said sure but we play mostly on 1.0, i was like wtf is that? and they explained, i got 1.0 and about a month into playing 1.0 i wanted to see what it was like to hack so i went and downloaded ET and hacked on there it was way to easy, and there were servers u were aloud to hack on, but my mistake was i wanted to hack against ppl who werent hacking and tried to get on a pb server hahahahaha dumb, then tried to hack 1.41, got banned for a cvar never got banned for a hack, got kicked from 1337 then joined [low] for a while then rejoined 1337, me boss and drop pretty much kept 1337 alive for a while, my computer broke so i was away for a while, when i came back air was back, and he had ng tags on so i wanted to join and here i am.....

My dad, brother, and I all played the original castle wolfenstein (basically like the first ever fps). One day my older brother found out about the "return to castle wolfenstein" so he started playing that for a while. I was never really interested with it at first, I was more into sony playstation and all that. Eventually i started to play and got pretty much hooked from there.

My first clan ever was called *)ME(*, ran by COD!X(if you remember him lol) My bro and i both played in that clan. I always had to have my bro come to my pc and type the colors for me cuz it was always to so confusing for me. After a while ME died and i joined a clan RcW(really cool warriors) that went on for a little bit, but not to long. From there I would play at *EVIL* and FUN box beach servers. A guy by the name of =UeF= Ehmac wanted me to join uef so i did(I still remember all of those duels that would go on over by sniper hill lool) Eventually I wanted to join *EVIL* cuz it was their server and i thought that they were better than uef, so i left uef and tried out for evil. I was about to make it into EVIL but uef and evil had a clan war and UEF had won so i decided to rejoin uef( i was like 12 and just wanted to be in the best clan ) Played in uef for a while and its kind of a blur from there but basically i started playing at {FuK} DM a lot and really enjoyed dm. I joined all sorts of dm clans that came and went. I became a leader of the {x@} clan that actually went on to do pretty well.. hmm gambit and Sp@zz and N4d3bot had a clan called N@K so i joined them and played 1.3 and 1.4 with them for a while. After that ended I joined 1.3k and was a co - leader for that.. I played CS and CSS for a while and was inactive on rtcw. Came back and did my thing in 1.3k for a while trying to get get back going strong but swift was just never around. I then decided to make a clan /oTe/. That clan did pretty well for a while, we won a few clan wars. We had all heard about 1.0 so we came down here..

I joined a clan that antiscrub was in at the time(having no idea who any of the caught hackers were) with guys like zinger and 2pac and i forget who else. That fell apart so i joined 1337 and was co - leader there for a while. I left I think 1337 mainly cuz 1.0 seemed so big and full of activity at the time with so many clans, so i kinda wanted to see how i would do with the other clans and basically just explore the 1.0 world a little more.. soon after that i ran a clan called vR which turned out to be full of hackers( I still didn't know who the caught cheaters were so i accidently recruited a bunch) I then killed that clan cuz it was full of ex hackers. After that i joined a clan ran by Scooby(eX) where i think i was a co leader for that but i can't remember to well. After that ended I joined up with UL and had a lot of fun with them for a good while, but i got to thinking and decided i really wanted to make my own clan for a few different reasons. Finally i ended up here back with my 1.3 friends trying to get ppl to play obj again(i guess it has a worked a lil bit still wanna see it more though obviously )

When i was like 11 or 12 i downloaded this really cool demo called Soldier of Fortune 2. I use to play that game religiously and even though it was only one map it never seemed to get boring. Well I made a lot of friends there and some of them talked about this really good game called rtcw.

So i went out to Target picked it up played thru single player (used cheats fucking forest level is bullshit) and then started my multiplayer career. My name on SOF2 was ImGoingToPumpYouFullofLead but because that name was too long i shortened it to pump (probably should of chosen lead in hindsight)

So i played on *evil* box my noob stage wasnt as long as most because SOF2 and rtcw shared a lot of similar console commands and the gameplay was the similar. So one day on mp_ice i was owning some nubs and did a quick run of ice and of course that attracted (p-blk)'s attention. (p-blk) at the time only really had 5 members at that time Cain,Abel,Spec,Trucka and Bob.

A few years later, after pblk blossumed into a elite clan, i tried my luck at 1.4 were i played with some of the best rtcw had to offer at this server called tehpalace. The server was OLTL and had a credit system called xstab. It was fun until the end when the server admin decided to move to ET:QW (he then realized that sucks moved on to TF2 and finally COD4).

Anyway I then played 1.3 until it slowly started to die (fuck bad mod) and pblk was nearing its end so i decided to go to 1.0. On 1.0 i joined 1337 because it was filled with 1.3 players at that time and played with them until that slowly began to die. After that i basically took almost a year off from wolf playing a game here or there. Then i saw how many pblk and 1337 members were joining ng so i decided to join.

Wow, where to start. Well my IRL friend jay ( aka *420*SpAzZ*420* ) use to play 1.33 all the time at his place when I use to go over and get blazed. It caught my attention considering he was owning a bunch of noobs, so I said to myself hey that looks like an interesting easy game. So one day at Jays ( being uber high of course ) asked if i could give it a try, of course I wasn't the best but I did manage to get a kill here and there. I asked where he bought the game and he told me some random store, but they were all out. I decided to go onto ebay and see if there was any for sale. I found one and bought the game for 5.99$ ( great deal ) + shipping and handling of course so around 15$.

Now for my history of 1.33 & 1.0. Since spAzz represented the *420* tags I decided to slap them on and own it up with him as *420*SmokE*420* ( which is why everyone on here from 1.33 knows me as smoke ) which was my first rtcw name. We screwed around for a bit with the 420 tags ( kyle should remember wearing these tags ) with a few other friends which is when I met kyle. I then decided I wanted a active clan with more then just buddies, so I decided to tryout for (P-BLK) which they accepted me right away. Had a couple clan wars, met a lot of cool guys ( including pump, drop, killa, ) The clan was great and I enjoyed my time there.

After that Spazz decided he wanted to join a clan as well, I mentioned p blk but he was leaning more towards 1.3k so once he got accepted into the clan I decided to say my farewells to p blk and apply for 1.3k which i was accepted ( after a while lol, swift was AFK alot as well as uberman ) which was another great clan where I met scott, swift, uberman and of course eagle, from there on i was 1.3k for a while until everyone went inactive but me.

After searching for a clan besides p blk and 1.3k I met a cool guy named Ugly, we were both looking for a clan but couldn't find any to suit us so we decided to make the clan {WG} which was quite active for the longest time, but like any other clan it died off and everyone moved down to 1.0 ( sadly )

Once I found out what 1.0 was I started to look for another clan which of course was 1337 ( considering a lot of 1.33 players were in it ) I got accepted then found out what DM was all about ( wow did i suck when i first started DM ) I remember playing at xXx DM since that was the server everyone was on. Then again 1337 sort of drifted away and members started to go inactive ( including air :@ ) So i had to yet find another clan.

This time i wanted to find a clan that did both OBJ and DM not just one which is when I discovered the clan -SoL- run by Cheetos aka Chester. Met some chill dudes (boss,acid) did lots of scrims and obj wars with them. Eventually this clan became dead and I was the only one active at the time so i said fuck this.

I noticed a friend of mine ( scott & scooby ) were making a clan Ex/x with a dude called Festus. I decided I wanted to be apart of this clan badly so I applied and was accepted, thing is Scooby maybe played 1 scrim with us and went inactive so the clan was left to Festus & Scott so that didn't last to long considering we all didn't play much.

After that I wanted a new active clan that had some good players with talent which was UA ( during the time kuwait was playing ) learned a lot from these dudes from scrims and yet again met some cool people. One day cure and I got into a argument and I was kicked from UA for being a jackass although he was acting the same ( weird i know )

Which lead me to joining US with elmo since he wanted a clan as badly as I did, so I joined for him ( bad mistake ) considering there was lots of drama queens + ex hackers.

I tried out for other clans like UL, aTa, etc and got denied. So once I found out kyle was making a new clan I quit US right away and came here for a tryout, got accepted and now here we are kicking some ass

Good topic eclipse, makes me think of all the good/bad times from rtcw.

p.s. I wish 1.33 was still alive, lots of good times on there.

used to play wolfenstein3D when i was like < 10, also played Doom2&3. Heretic, Duke Nukem 3d, and probably a few more.
few years later, dad works for a computer company so got a fake copy of it for free (lol). i remember he used to play it late at night when id probably go to bed, but eventually he showed me a look at it. used to play single player (LOL @ clips "chicks with stens") and yes the forrest level used to piss me off too, pretty easy now though .
probably passed single player a few times now, can do it pretty quickly.
dad got me online on 1.33 (must have been how the game came) and i used to play on the banimod servers, flying around in the air with a scopeless mauser LOL. was there i met
(LD)Bastard and he recruited me. After that was VTX and playing at evil, funbox, quicknet (can anyone name anymore?). bit hazy but i think i was afkish for a year or two, and came back and bad was there. played in a few clans like US,1337, @, aus and i know there was more, cant remember!! there was a clan that the leader (graeme or something?) made me become leader of (cause i was so 1337) and that died pretty quick, heheeh.
dont remember why i went to 1.0, i think it was a blox1n(turbz) influence. i was also in inv// but im assuming i left it before you guys joined cause i dont remember yas. yeah well probably over a year after playing s4ndmod i joined up with you guys.
i bet there are so many missing/just true parts to this story. my memory is fucked.

I know I started in CnN 1/3 .. was not a clan hopper til 1.4 ... cant remember all the clans I was in, but played OSP and Shrub war league. Someone told me to go to 1.0 and play against the hackers .. so I did .. here I am.

I was in middle school when the game came out, I remember playing the original as a kid and I loved the doom hexan and heritic games so I figured why not. I picked it up at best buy with my saved penny jar and have been playing since. this was 9-10 years ago mind you.
