what you did there, I see it
Did the doc explain why you're getting PKR instead of LASIK? Either way just follow his orders to the letter and you'll be back and getting blood splatter all over your monitor in no time

BTW thank you to all the US tax paying citizens.. but fuck you drop - pay more taxes!

The little of what I know about the two is that LASIK is commercially more popular because it has a better recovery period, but people with thin corneas typically get PKR instead

prk shapes the lens of the eye - meaning basically they scrap a thin layer off the eye then burn your lens to focus properly - that thin layer heals back after some time. It does give you an abrasion on the eye so the recovery time is longer. Perfect or near perfect vision can take from a week to 2 months.
lasik is where they cut a flap through your lens and shape your corneas to focus properly - laying the flap back down. Technically the flap never heals back to full strength and later in life if something were to happen that flap possibly could come loose and you would lose the vision or a good portion of your vision in that eye. But, you walk out of the office with perfect or near perfect vision
both end outcome vision are identical.
