Hey everyone im having trouble successfully dling pb from pb.s4ndmod.com on my computer. i have windows 7. I dled the proper patch followed the steps ran as admin but get a couldnt load defualt.cfg error msg when i try to open it. I dled wolf off steam and used a patch to downgrade to 1.0 so my files are a little out of the ordinary. Anyone got any advice? thanks lukester

When I try to launch, I get the error "could not load default.cfg."

Uninstall the game, delete the game folder and then reinstall the game to the default directory.

After reinstalling to the default directory, make sure that you've deleted any shortcuts from the previous installation, since this will still cause problems when you try to launch the game.

Make sure that when the game is installed and that the pak3 file in the baseq3 folder is all there. Should be 457 MB when a full install is done.

This error commonly occurs when the game is installed with no directory specified. For example, if when you install it you choose to install it to a different hard drive or partition (D:,E:, etc.), but fail to specify a folder, the game will install everything to the root of the hard drive and the game will not launch.

If you want to install the game to a different hard drive, please make sure you specify a folder when choosing the other drive (i.e.: D:\Quake 3 Arena).

This can also occur if the game's registry entries have been modified either manually or due to using system restore. If that is the case then you will need to uninstall the game via "add/remove programs" in the control panel. After removing the game then reinstall it to recreate the registry entries.

does anyone remember where the tread for how to downgrade on steam(from 1.4 to 1.0) is? I thought i remember seeing it somewhere... can't search on forums and don't remember who posted it
