If you choose to use the advice from dash's link and have a nvidia card, I'd suggest not downloading the latest drivers for it. Will make life easier later on when you get the pb client (worth it), explanation in the link below www.s4ndmod.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=48 |

i have a pretty newish nvidia card and i downloaded the latest drivers about 3 days ago. why do you not recommend this?

perhaps the very latest have fixed the issue the pb client used to have with it. Previously (6 months ago?) the latest nvidia drivers would not function properly with 1.0pb, causing that "grey screen of doom"
Don't know why I bothered to type that out given that I provided a link to that information. not like you would even need to scroll down far either, it's the one early on that has NVIDIA ONLY in big colourfull letters
