there isn't tax here in WA but in Cali i never paid 33% and was making decent money. Hell even with 90 hour work weeks i didn't lose that much. What are you claiming on your w2's eclipse?

you claim 0 therefore they take out the maximum amount from your check. Claiming 1 with a kid might actually benefit you more. You never get "all" of it back at the end of the year. Sure you get more but the whole idea with dependents is having the money now. And yes this topic has highly drifted off.

or claim 9 (or exempt if possible) and pay what you owe at the end of the year

i have no idea what you guys are on about. i prefer our tax system, it seems easier The US tax system has a shit ton of loopholes, thats why it is confusing. Can't emphasize enough how it is designed to kick the poor and protect the rich. well, the dirt poor get free houses and free food and free spending money and what the fuck ever else they get, but IMO it fucks the middle class more than the upper class. That's why I have been thinking of getting a real estate license, the tax breaks for realtors are goddamn ridiculous. I claim "1" as recommended by my accountant. I am not sure how much I will get back for Aiden, next time I meet with him I'll check it out. But I know for a fact I lose about 30% of my checks to taxes every week. I also have another 3 or 5% taken out to ensure that I do not owe anything at the end of the year, but I did not factor that into my original quote of 30-35%.

Just a quick note for Eclipse: The more you have them take from you in the first place, the worse off you are. You don't want a refund at the end of the year; that would be money you could have had all along and invested to make more of a profit than allowing the gov't to use. Normally you should break close to even, often times owing less than $100 to state and getting a small return on federal. This way you may owe a tiny amount, but what you get out of your paychecks is all yours to invest and make real money off of. And I don't mean investing in your piggy bank Eclipse

I invest in waffles, tons of waffles.
I have a fair amount of money invested and it is doing well for me at the moment, took a hit a few weeks ago but it didn't cut into my initial investment at all so I am OK with it. haven't added to it in a while though. Next time I have upwards of 5k laying around I will. As far as taxes, I am due to get quite a bit back, and February/March is when I like to go on vacation.
Plus I have a button on my phone that I press and it gives me free money so it's really all good. ;D

Probably until after more money gets printed and interest rates take a hike Also, what is free money? Does not compute
